problem adding ram to a7v

i have an a7v with a 1.3ghz athlon that i have been using for years with a pair of crucial 256mb sdram dimms (CT32m64S4D75.16t - specs are SDRAM, PC133 • CL=3 • Unbuffered • Non-parity • 133MHz • 3.3V • 32Meg x 64)

since i had another slot available i finally got around to ordering another dimm. 512mb. also from crucial (CT64M64S4D75 - specs are SDRAM, PC133 • CL=3 • Unbuffered • Non-parity • 133MHz • 3.3V • 64Meg x 64)

I plugged the 512mb dimm into the third slot (closest to cpu) and started using it. after a few days i noticed firefox was crashing, so i ran memtest86 and it indicated errors starting at about the 512mb mark.

I changed the order of the dimms, and put the 512mb dimm first and the 256mb dimms in 2&3 and memtest86 again indicated errors.

I tried just the 512mb in slot 0 and it worked fine.

I am now trying 512mb in slot 0 and a 256mb in slot 1 and so far so good.

At this point, what should i be looking at? Could this be a power supply issue?

Just an update... so far so good at 100mhz. if i can run this at 100mhz i guess i'll take it, but is there a guide on the specific ram settings that i can try to get it to work @ 133mhz?

check the mother board manual for specific position of memory you installed.
Slot 0,1,2 for SS and DS memory modules.

the manual states that any combination should work, DS is fine. These are all DS dimms.
