Trying to narrow down my Mobo choices.

My build is as follows:
E8400
PCPC 750watt
Armor case
8800GTS 512
4 gigs of ram

ASUS P5E LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard

vs

GIGABYTE GA-EX38-DS4 LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel Motherboard $200

I don't plan to go SLi, but I want a good board that will overclock well if I want to push the E8400 to 3.6-4.0Ghz.  Price is not really a concern.

I personally would go ASUS, I just really like them for some reason. But you should be fine with either board, gigabyte is a good brand.

The X38 chipset is CrossfireX capable, not SLI cabable.  ASUS offers a revamped AMI BIOS with lots of new features geared towards overclocking and enthusiasts.  Gigabyte uses Award BIOS.

From what I've seen and read, ASUS seems to be the choice of the majority.
Not so much for better hardware, but features and big name service and reliability.

Both are pretty good boards... but i feel ASUS always comes out on top with regards to features and performance.
