No active mixer devices available xp home

Hello,
i get an error message "no active mixer devices available go to add hardware to install" there is nothing to install> I tried the services.msc thing to check on windows audio and it was started not stopped-I've tried everything I can think of please help if possible! Thank You

Go to the computer manufacturer's website, look up your computer by model number, download the audio drivers, save the driver to the desktop.
Then install the audio driver and restart the computer, should fix the problem.
