Anyone wanna help me decide to either buy an 8800gts 1gig g92 or 8800gtx 768mb
what happened is the my previous card broke so i have to get a card = 340$ or higher. My budget is under 400$
 since i have a crossfire board should i  get 2 ati cards? but sadly my last build with crossfire didn't have any improvements on games.
water cooling system so im going to overclock.

Whoah i did not know  there was a G92 GTS 1 GIG.
 
I am not a big fan of SLI either, go for the GTS if i was you! Or wait 3 days for the 9800GTX ofcourse which is better than both these cards

Wait the 9800gtx is coming out in 3 days?  how much is it gonna cost and no any spec about it?

I'd go with the GTX over the GTS 1gb.  If you can wait for 9800GTX that would probably be best.

Who made your Nvidia 8800gts 512 (g92) 815/1100? Some come with lifetime warranty.

your board Msi k9a platinum is crossfire...
Get an ATI 3870 x2, it is faster then a GTX and can crossfire for expansion one day.

Seems it comes close to matching the 3870 x 2 and the 9800GX2
 
It kinda makes the GTS choice redundant.

9800GTX, is rumoured to be around $300-350 dollars, and it will be faster than the 8800 GTX nd GTS. It matches the 9800GX2 at times! But thats due games not fully taking advantage of the dual GPU.
 
I rate the 9800GTX over the 3870X2!, not that i like nvidia over ati. Am just not to keen with this whole idea of two GPU, because if a game does not take advantage of it you gna end up playing it a 3870 or maybe a little bit more.

this card seems to require alot of power is it alot faster then 8800gtx?

heres a good place to calculate you ps wattage would think the 9800gtx will use as much or more power then the 8800gtx. im sure its gonna be a lot faster then the 8800gtx.

I dont no i have been looking over reviews and stuff and it doesnt seem that 9800gtx is a whole lot better. Hopefully nvidia wont over charge like they usually due.

well i dont think its gonna be a huge performance increase from the 8800gtx but a noticeable increase. i have a feeling that it will be under 400. will just have to wait 3 days till those benchmarks and prices
 

However well the 9800GTX performs in those benchmarks... I feel the £300 I have just spent on 2 8800GTS G92 cards for SLi was the better investment.  
 
Both GTS cards are getting BIOS flashed to 750 / 1850 / 2000 which should offer performance pretty close to the GTX's.

The gts you have could go even faster core 815 mem 1090 well thats with water cooling.
And just on good airflow i got mine to core 780 mem 1070

I would wait until next week and then get a 9800GTX

Well i have store credit at the egg cuz my 8800ts g92 overheats and has issues so newegg will give me 340$ and if its 400s ill ask the parents to pay the rest lol. i was gonna ask them to buy me a blue-ray player but i couldnt wait so i bought 1 already lol.
