Hello,

so I built this rig:

Intel E8400 (3.0 Ghz)
EVGA 780i
Corsair TWIN2X4096-8500C5DF (5-5-5-15, 1066 Mhz)
Vista 64

with some other stuff thats not really related...

I have been trying to overclock my CPU to about 3.6 Ghz, however every time I even increase the FSB a little bit my computer freezes up about 1 minute after I logged in.

For example I just tried: 9 x 350 Mhz = 3.15 Ghz, and it froze after one and a half minutes... I raised the FSB by only 20 Mhz.

Has anyone encountered this problem before?

Unlink your memory to run at 1066mhz only or even better at 800mhz.

I think with your current ratio, a 20mhz increase will make your memory run at 1120mhz, which is probably why your system is locking up.

No that was not it, I finally figured it out :D

Some software from Nvidia was screwing with my overclock, so it crashed the entire system...

Now it is working perfectly, currently 4.1 Ghz @ 1.28V @ 63C

Thanks anyways...
