I find the Treo 600's speakerphone great for my needs. The only thing
you have to be aware of is that the speaker is in the back of the Treo
600 (near the camera lens) so if it is covered by your case or another
object, the sound won't be as loud as it should be. The volume of the
speakerphone (just like on the headset) is always adjustable.

As long as you don't plan on using the Treo 600's speakerphone
capabilities in a meeting boardroom where everyone is talking into it,
it should be fine. If you are the only person talking or you pass
around the Treo 600 to the person who is talking (like a microphone),
it will be fine as well since the Treo 600's speaker is loud enough so
that everyone in a typical size boardroom can hear the person on the
other end.

The problem with the Treo 600's speakerphone capability is NOT whether
it is loud enough so that you can hear the person on the other end (or
the people in the room can hear the person on the other end). The
problem with the Treo 600's speakerphone is that the microphone has
about the same range as a typical cellphone (if not less).
