If anyone can give me suggestions it would be much appreciated.  I just got an ECS (Elitegroup) motherboard A780GM-A Black edition.

AMD 64x2 5000+ Black Edition
4Gig PC800 AData RAM
Currently just using on board video and sound
Windows Vista Ultimate

The system seems to run fine until I try to change the dedicated memory to the video card to anything and it will not start up without resetting the bios.  Same thing happens if I try to overclock the system at all.  The system is not overheating it stays about 96-102 degrees F and I have 2 system fans and an artic cool processor fan.  I even just tried to enable the overclock function and left the processor at the normal settings (not changing the voltage, bus or multiplier) and the system will not start until I reset it.

I am getting frustrated but at least the system works somewhat...

Any suggestions?

i would guess that you have a faulty board since it still fails with no overclock.  if you just bought it, ask for RMA.

Did you go into smart mode and disable the GPU drivers?  Im not sure why you would want to change the memory settings other than installing a stand alone card.  If your wanting to use a stand alone GPU first disable the integrated drivers in smart mode.  Restart your system and enter bios to change the memory.  Restart from bios and the system should then pick up a stand alone GPU.

Well first of all motherboards with onboard video suck for overclocking.  Why are you trying to change the dedicated memory?  Why dont you leave it alone if thats your problem?  I dont understand, the system needs the dedicated memory to run the video, why would you change it???  When you get a video card, you can disable the onboard video.
