Well I'm looking for a new monitor OR a TV for my new computer. I'm running a Q6600 with a 8800GTX.

I'm looking for a 32" monitor/tv that can be used for heavy gaming... I'd like a resolution higher than 1600x1200 and I don't want to spend more than 1200$ so if anyone has something or knows of something that I'm looking for all help will be appreciated.

I'm not too keyed up about the best US sites, but I think either the Dell 3007WFP or the Samsung 30" one below is best. They're both 30", I think you'd really struggle to find a TV at that res, I don't know if they're even produced for the mass market.

Not too much help, but I think those are the best 30" ones...there's the Apple one too, but that's really not cheap.

Few pointers:

  • Most big screens don't seem to be made for fast moving pictures and therefore aren't the best for gaming.
  • With a TV, the best resolution you will get it 1920x1080 from a 1080p display.
  • For a 30"+ monitor, you will have a resolution of about 2560x1600.
  • A TV has a more pronounced width to height ratio than a monitor (for 1080p : Monitor(1920x1200), TV (1920x1080)).

Given that you can take a look at Sharp Aquos 32GP1U for a TV and Samsung 305T for a monitor. Note that these are rated as 6ms displays and some people didn't like it for gaming. Moreover, for the monitor (2560x1600), you might want to SLI another 8800GTX if you want to use native resolution with good quality settings in demanding games like Oblivion, but forget about in in Crysis.
