Im hoping you guys can help me with some much needed advice. Im purchasing my computer from Australia from two majour websites, (www.itestate.com and www.ozdirect.com). This computer is going to be used for both school and leisure. When I say leisure I mean the extensive use of playing "COD4, Assassins Creed, Oblivion, CS:S, DOD:S, The Witcher, Crysis"
i think 4gb ram is kinda the way to go these days. 2gb isn't very future or even present proof anymore - me thinks.
I think it might be wiser going for 8800GT/GTS SLI instead of the 9800GX2...cost less ($350 in total for both cards, which is less than half of what your paying for the 9800gx2)...and also it will have better performance. me thinks...
thats the only 2 things that pop out at me. but i am not currently fully update on my pc hardware anymore. however, i am pretty sure i am right. maybe the guys below me can tell ya.

Im looking at upgrading to 4GB of ram in the near future after purchase, this is just a base. As for the 8800GT/GTS SLI that leaves me with no further Video Card upgrade and it will cost about $200 less than a 9800GX2. So thats the reasons for the video card.
4gb ram is only about 85$ for 2x2gb sticks which will serve you better than 4x1gb + you can upgrade to 8gb
600$ for a video card that runs worse than 2x 8800gts, i must agree with qmalik, isnt the way to go. you say you have no room to uppgrade, but really you are better off getting 2 or 3 9800 GTS / GTX later on. the 9800 gx2 is just 2 8800 GTS's together anyway. if you get a 8800 evga card you can step up to the 9800 series when it is released. unless your monitor is really high resolution, sli will not do you much good. and at least get a 780i if you are going sli. if you go with one 9800 card for now (8800 + step up) you will have money left over to even get the 790i and ddr3 ram if you feel like it. but i wouldnt get a 750i for 9800gx2 if thats what you were planning
