Can motherboards support more than one memory kit?

And if so. I'm using nForce 780i.

A normal ATX motherboard supports 4 ram banks.

thats not what im asking im asking if I can use 2 Ram kits for example

buying one 2x2g sticks = 1 kit
or
buying two 2x1g sticks = 2 kits

Do i make any since?

get the 2x2 better to have identical ram (less chance for problems that way)

Yes...they can. The reason they call it a kit is because they match the timings and characteristic of 2 sticks of ram, it isn't made special or anything. Theoretically, you could buy 4 sticks from 4 manufactures and put them all in and they'd work. However this sometimes can cause problems as manufactures specs are sometimes off a little.

As long as you buy the same model ram, you can always add more later and be pretty safe though.
