from what i've heard, if you've got money to blow, its not something you'll just chuck away as a gimmick after a month - but its a bit pricy

The OCZ NIA was supposedly "shipping" last month, according to some reports. Most distributors that I have talked to say they haven't seen any yet and that it probably won't be available until late April or May. The price is supposed to be around $150.

But, it sounds like at least some review samples have been sent out: http://www.techradar.com/news/compu...viewed-the-ocz-neural-impulse-actuator-315193

The statement "possibly one of the coolest PC peripherals we've ever encountered" has me curious.

I was thinking about this... since the NIA works by monitoring brain waves, and you apparently assign actions or keystrokes to different patterns of brain waves.

So, does drinking a lot of coffee change your brain patterns? Would I need a different calibration profile for my NIA after drinking several cups of coffee or shots of espresso? What about drinking alcohol? Would my brain waves then be too sedate after having a few beers for the NIA to function? Or perhaps I would just need to have three different calibration profiles saved for my NIA: 1 for when I am highly caffeinated, another for after I've had a few beers, and another for just normal everyday use.

Thoughts?
