This Is what I did with one of my PCs DVI port:

Well I managed to put in an LED and a 80mm fan to work from the DVI. Quite handy. I will probably be using the fan to cool my modem, and the LED is for light.

ghetto fabulous.  One more way to do something strange.  Your only getting 5 volts, so slicing open a USB cable and using it would do just as well, and be more universal

Yup. Only +5v. Next step is to add a LED array.

Any one know hot to draw power from a PCI slot? I tried it with the correct pins attached to an LED but I'm guessing the PCI needs some feedback loop,etc before sending power, cause the LED didn't turn on (yes, the LED is working).
