i wanted to install fresh xp on 160 GB sata HDD. is there a particular limit for xp partition. if i make a large space partition for xp will it speed up or not.
Vanilla XP, ie, prior to Service Pack 1, had a size limitation of 137GB. But to have a pre-SP1 disc is extremely rare nowadays, so you should be fine to use the whole drive.
You shouldn't see any performance loss or gain by using multiple partitions.
