Lost my start up icon to my computer

Hello, can some one help me get my start up icon back online

Start up icon? As in the Start button on the taskbar? Is the whole taskbar gone? Does it pop up if you move the mouse to the bottom of the screen?

It used to be on the bottom of the screen and is now gone. It doesn't show up when i move my mouse to the bottom. How could this have happened??
