I'm thinking of getting a cheap laptop to take notes in my classes, surf the web, and play world of warcraft. Obviously WoW will be the most taxing on the system. I'm looking at a cheapo laptop like the Dell Vistro 1000. I'd get the upgraded ram to 1gb, but will the processor and video card handle playing WoW?

It has a a 256 mb intigrated memory video card.
AMD duel core 1.9 mhz processor
1gb ram

Thanks for any help.

I get free shipping and no tax on dell laptops so I'd like to stick w/ dell (and cheap!).

"Integrated ATI Radeon® Xpress 1150 HyperMemory" -From Dell.com

Yea, it'll play, just don't expect to crank all the settings. I played on a 256MB FX5200, which is huge piles of pooopy compared to anything from the X1 ATI gen

alright cool - i was considering waiting and saving more for a better laptop, but honestly i dont know how much i'd be playing on the laptop since I have a nice desktop already.. but i'd like it to be able to play WoW at the minimum. Any other opinions?
Thanks!

Go with 2GB of RAM as well.

DDR2 is very cheap so definitely go with 2g if you are buying a system with Vista loaded...

Yes, Vista needs more RAM. If something recommends 1 gig for XP, then 2 gigs for Vista is a must.

WoW can default to DX7, so you won't have problems playing the game.

I'm waiting for laptops to arrive with the new 780G chipset because it has the best IGP from ATI to date. That way, I can play LOTR Online while on vacation. It has a DX10 patch and looks much better than WoW.

Ya WoW will run ok but at minimum to medium graphics. But I spent decent money on a laptop with a 7300go in it and it doesn't to a whole lot better.
