After much research and effort trying to get my ASRock 775i65gv to go into S3 standby / suspend to RAM, I have learned that the board is incapable of doing this, even though there is a "Suspend to RAM" bios option.

As a general FYI, I wanted to alert folks that an ASRock tech support representative stated: 1) S3 standby and "suspend to RAM" are not the same thing; and 2) NONE of ASRock's boards support S3 standby. While I believe that both of these statements are incorrect, I thought people should be aware of what appears to be ASRock's official position. FWIW, I asked the representative if I could relay his statements to the internet community.

Bottom line: if S3 is important to you, I would avoid ASRock boards.

are you...THE "Bruce Dickinson"?

hehe couldn't resist. Ya ASROCK, MSI, ECS have been on the questionable list on quality and Tech Support. My worse case was with a MSI it took them 2 weeks to reply to an email and it was had to have been Babblefished. Stick with quality; Asus, Gigabyte, ABIT maybe EVGA (haven't used it so can't comment totally)
