I have two Sata HDD one is of 80 GB and the other is of 160 GB. I installed win xp on 160 GB and than i installed win xp on 80 GB and i noticed that the speed of 80 GB is faster than that of 160 GB. Is it true that smaller HDD are faster than bigger HDD.

Thanks

It really does depend on the drives themselves. You should look at specific specs like "cache" or "rpm".

It has much more to do with drive design than size, and actually, in most cases, bigger drives are faster than smaller ones.
