looking to OC my Asus M2N32 WiFi deluxe, FSB @1GHZ
AMD AM2 6400+ D/C 3.2GHz
4 GB DDR2 800Mhz Dual channel ram ( 2 x 2048 )
Just downloaded Core temp :
Am running the AI Booster that came with the MB CD, at 5% OC,
CPU is 3.36GHZ, FSB @1050-1060MHz
only running 1 8600 gts W/512 MB,..
Have had it at 3.62GHz, (10% OC,..) but had stability issues..
currently running 44 degrees C..
havent messed with the voltages yet..
what else do i need to do ??
thanks in advance for the help!!!!
Honestly, you probably won't get it much faster then stock. That is close to the top end for that line of CPU's. Its a nice CPU, though. Even multi... which means that your ram will be running full speed. What apps are you running that you want to OC this?
just trying to push the performance envelope a bit.. new to OC ing scene.. gonna order out a 4870 x2 OC, and get new system bit by bit..
waiting for Nehalem.. was at another forum, and a guy said to wait as I was planning on getting:
Asus rampage Extreme
Intel QX9650 @3.2 GHz Quad
8 GB ddr3 @1600 Mhz
2 4870 x2 OC'd
thought that I might try H2O cooling,..
Guy said to wait.. I do some video graphics art design for web apps, and i do some autocad ( 3D modeling, house plans, etc.. etc.. ) on the side.. for some xtra coin.. Looking to purchase Nehalem later on.. thought that I'd see what I could do with this Athlon 64 first.. runs real stable at 3.4 - 3.5 GHz,.. only seen 45 - 50 C so far.. course I havent played with Voltages yet..definitely needs a GPU upgrade tho..Havent gotten too extreme... Yet.. The numbers that I've seen for the nehalem kinda make me drool.. better to wait and pick up the Nehalem I'm, thinking..
better yet a Dual chip MB with the Nehalem would last me for 5 years at least..
Anyway, currently running 108% on the AI Booster.. Which is good enough for now..
Overclock separately the CPU, then the memory, then the HTT.
Then combine all three together.
When you overclock one part, lower the other 2 so they do not overclock.

Well, Windsor cores aren't known to be terribly good over clockers so you seem to be getting a good result there ^_^. I agree that you need to upgrade your GPU for now. With a good GPU and a 10% CPU over clock you'll be able to wait for a while .
well yesturday i was playing with the same setup but with 4 gigs of ram. i can tell you now that 3.55 ghz is the fast somewhat stabil you can go. yesturday i had the cpu at 3.7ghz which was the fastest i have gotten so far.
