Hi Guys im new to this forum. I have spent the last 2 days doing research and i have read all 50 posts on Asus's forum and no answers were found there so im hoping someone here has experience with this.

I ordered a 3.4EE for my computer and it should be here by the end of the week and i upgraded my Bios to 1019 since their site states 1016 and greater is all that is needed for this cpu. I will upgrade to the latest 1023 if 1019 does not work.

I would like to know what Bios you guys are running that have this CPU working on this motherboard. And if there is anything else i should know.

thanks

Barely anyone hear will have this CPU.  It was super overpriced when it was originally out, and outperformed by the AMD FX CPU's at the time.  Now, no one will purchase it, because even cheap Core based CPU's will outperform it.

I'm not saying it was a bad buy if you got it for really cheap (like $100).

That motherboard is a really good old one though, and should support it no problem.

I apologize if I wasn't much help.  This is more of a commentary then a solution/answer.

If you can find it for 100 let me know lol ill take a few. I don't know if i agree the FX is better then the EE but I do agree there is faster technology out there but with what im doing i believe the 3.4EE will give me more then enough.

I would run one in a heartbeat. I stuck to the 2.8e in fear of the extreme environment and the heat dissipation number would get drowned. I would feel confident with it now. Not only that, if you know facts about cpus, the 3.4ee is a system that can be sparked up forever and be darn good. Altho The 2.8e is a frendly masterpiece (dare I say it) as well...

someday I will get a nonrepeating internet, and find out what the latest is. I have been parting like its 2000 since 2000 at the same freakin party..never changes.

That was the motherboard I had 2 systems ago although I had the 3.2 Northwood.  I can't tell you about the CPU but I can say it's a great board.

That's the board that made me an Asus fan, it's too bad that their QC and CS has slipped but the do still make a few great boards.  Hopefully my new one (Rampage Formula) will remind me why I liked them.

I agree their support has gone to **** on their own forum and support for older products. Im undecided on a new system and what board to choose.

That was my very first ASUS board, me and some friends went nuts over them at release.  The proc i used was a p4 2.4C and had it overclocked to 3.12 with stock cooling, ran awesome for years.

[]Hi.   I've Had That identical System For a a little over 2 years, also Water-Cooled, + 4 Gigs of Kingston 533 Hyper-X.... For the O.C.,

Anyway, I had to to update the Bios when I installed the Chip, But no real Changes Since, Its been good to Me, I Plan to put in A HIS 2600XT-AGP, which I heard had some Problems W/ The Driver, I know ATI came out W/ An AGP Hotfix For For The Problems,   But then Alot of Master Technicians have trouble checking the oil in their Car, Anyway, The 1004 Ver Asus Bios is what I upgraded to.
