have a look at this will you! www.gamedude.com.au, then go to the CPU section, Intel LGA1366, and you have all three nehalems that you can buy RIGHT NOW! (sorry i couldnt put a direct url, it's a bit of a gay site..) apparently they have been there for over a week according to my sources ;)

Is this a breach of the embargo or??

Been released for the longest time, not worth it for the price really. It's not that big of a difference in comparison to C2D.

I don't see how Core i7 has been released for the longest time since the release date isn't until the 17th of Nov. Either someone has jumped the gun and taking preorders or, someone is trying to flease some would be idiots?

Based on the reviews of the i7 Core, i'm gonna stick with my OC'd Q6600. I don't see any real reason to upgrade at this time. I do mostly online gaming and i'm running 2x 8800GTs in SLI, 8GB of PC6400 G. Skill Ram, Vista Ultimate x64 and a Q6600 @ 3.0Ghz, and currently my only bottle-neck is my wifi inet connection. (No FIOS in my area yet. :() Otherwise, I think i'm pretty much set for a while...

Maybe in a year or two though, see where trends are at...

I got a flier from Tigerdirect the other day.

965....1149.99

940...649.99

920...329.99

I'm with the other guy ( q6600 ) What I have is good enough and doesn't warrant a so so upgrade.... not really and upgrade from what I've read already..... Where the hell are the 5m chips ? I want speed and so do my graphics cards and some of my games.

Actually my local Best Buy has had the New Gateway FX for two weeks.
Cant remember the model but it includes the low end Core i7 920.
3 Gigs of DDR 3
4850 ATI Radeon
And i believe 750GB but it might have been 640GB

Well imo, it just isn't worth price/performance. the price of X58's, triple channel (which isn't necessary but if you're spending that much may as well...) DDR3, and of course the cpu, just isn't worth the extra performance. gaming bottleneck is usually the GPU(s) anyway so..

4.0GHz duals ftw :D
