Now i do understand that cpu fsb to ram speed ratio must be 1:1.
I currently have E4300 fsb 800mhz and ddr2 1gb 800mhz ram. This is in ideal 1:1 ratio, isnt it? Well now, i am replacing this E4300 with a Q6600(i have intel g965ryck mobo). Q6600 has an fsb of 1066mhz. I will be getting new ram also(this 1 gb i will get rid of). Ideally my new ram should have been of 1066mhz speed. But unfortunatly my mobo supports upto 800mhz of ram. I have heard that if one cannot have 1:1 ratio, 2:1 ratio is the next best. So by that, 533mhz(since 533*2=1066) is the ideal speed of my ram. Is this correct?? Even if it is, will it work as good as if it was 800mhz ram?? How much is the difference?? Help plz :( I am really confused. And yes, i wont be overclocking :p
