Hi all
I"m upgrading my current rig from e6700 to q9450 when it's back in stock and my motherboard as well. The thing is I want to keep my 4gb crucial ps2 6400 memory but want to have some kind of future proof so that I can upgrade my memory when i can afford it. I have those nvidia 9 series which connects to PCIE 2 so a motherboard which has that slot would be my choice. But I dont know much about motherboard so please help me. Just some recommendations
PCI-E 2.0 is backward compatibile with PCI-E 1.0, so u can use a 9800GTX(Which is PCI-E 2.0 card on a PCI-E 1.0 board)
If u dont want SLI/Crosffire then go for a P35 board like :
ASUS P5K-E WIFI
ASUS P5K
GIGABYTE P35 DS3R
GIGABYTE P35 DS3L
ABIT IP35 PRO
If u want CrossFire:
Take a look @ ASUS and GIGABYTE X48 boards
and finally if u need SLI
Look@ NVIDIA 780i SLI boards (ASUS makes good ones)
