Problems installing printer

Hello,
My name is Brenda. I bought a HP Officejet J4540 computer and hooked it up and it worked perfectly. I unhooked it and now I can't rehook it because I think my net framework is screwed up and I deleted them off and now I can't download any of them. Am I going in the right direction or is there another reason why I can't get my printer hooked up. Also there could be a problem with my drivers.
