This is my first post in here, i have been reading for a long time. I think i have made my homework i just want confirmation/advice on my first build. (even tho i'm not new to homebuild system, i had a friend helping)
I'm a 2D/3D artist mostly working with the adobe suite and 3ds, causual gamer nothing hardcore (COD4/TF2 at the moment) but since i'm in graphic design and 3D i like things looking sharp. But i don't feel i would have use of a 8800ultra...
I am planning to OC (Nothing hardcore i need stability)
I working on Samsung 226BW (1680*1050) and not planning on changing it for a while.
Here what i was looking for : ( I plan to build within a month or so )
I am not much in mail rebate almost never worked...
Is there a huge differance between the seagate 7200.10 16mb VS seagate 7200.11 or this is mostly hype around the bothing time?
Any cheaper case suggestion for cool and Quiet system? ( must be @ 7feet from my bed and Render take days without netrender! )
My budget is around 1k nothing precise but if i could cut 100ish$ without sacrificing toomuch performance that would be awsome.
Good choices, apart from the PSU. I found a couple of savings but they do involve mail rebates, sorry.
I would replace that CoolerMaster PSU with this OCZ StealthXStream 600W:
http://www.ncix.com/products/index [...] Technology This saves you $12 and it's a better brand. (Warning - it has a blue light - might be annoying if you sleep 7 feet away)
You don't really need an aftermarket cooler for mild overclocks.
I guess you'd like to see how long it takes to render the same stuff on my pc. And I haven't maxed out my cpu/ram yet. Now if I could start a business building quality overclocked pcs for 3d artists...
Q6600 is a solid choice. You can pump the FSB up from 266 to 300 for an instant 3ghz overclock. Fine on even stock cooler.
