Let say, im running a xp computer right now, and i want to make a new partition with windows vista on it. Then once all the files are on vista, i want to delete the xp one.
What will happen to the partition? can i still use it to store stuff even if it's on a different OS?

You could delete all files from the XP partition, but deleting the partition could get you in trouble. Why don't you backup everything and then install Vista on a clean disk?
