Picked up a P4 Xeon server and it has a much better access time on the SCSI drive compared to the SATA drive i store all my backups on. What's more important? What would be the better drive to use?

Photobucket is having some issues so i can't upload the hd tune screenshots so i'll just type out the results. Both a 1 meg test

Fujitsu 10K Ultra 320 SCSI -

Min - 27.3
Max - 68.7
Avg - 52.9

Access Time - 8.0 ms
Burst Rate - 101.9
CPU usage - .2%

Western Digital 8meg Cache 7200rpm Drive -

Min - 51.9
Max - 100.6
Avg - 84.0

Access Time - 15.7 ms
Burst Rate - 92.1
CPU Usage - .8%

Whats the better drive to use? The WD? I can understand why the SCSI is kinda slower. It was made in 2001

Access time means nothing for backups. Plus, I wouldn't trust an 8 yr old drive with any important data.

For backups, you want sequential transfer rates, so the WD will be quite a bit faster.

i7 965 @ 4.2GHz (200*21), 1.384V
12GB Corsair Dominator DDR3-1600 CAS 7

What about for everyday use? The WD?

MSI X58 Pro-E
32GB SSD, WD Blacks In R0
Sapphire HD 5870's In XFire

Probably. Access time is actually important for normal windows use, but with that big of a disadvantage in sequential transfer rate, I doubt that the 15k could make up the difference.
