Well guys, a friend of mine told me to ask for your advice as i need to build a new pc. The big question in my mind is whether it is worth purchasing the 9800 x2 after reading the review on tomshardware. Also the case is also pretty important, not sure whether to go for the coolermaster 832 or the Thermaltake VD500LBNA Sword M Aluminium which is water cooled. I would go water colled bu apparently it can be alittle annoying having to change the water etc. Id appreciate your advice on the matter and will take all things into consideration. when concerning ram, cpu , motherboard, i have a good idea what i want yet still, share with me your thoughts.

Let me hear what you think. Thanks

9800 x2's benchmark performance is about the same as 2 8800GTS in sli. Both use 2 g92 gpus with 2x128 stream processers, so it makes sense. The x2 costs more, but will run on non-sli motherboards.

According to Tomshardware benchmark on cooling, the few water cooling devices tested performed no better than the best air cooling fans+heatsinks, even slightly below the best air cooling. I've never used water cooling, but it doesn't seem worth it, with annoying things like... algae growth... :na:

I see, yeah, i was thinking about just slappin in some delta fans but apparently they are just to loud. They say that it can make your pc sound like a hover which i find quiet funny lol. What about cpu and motherboard? was thinking about about the striker 2, keep in mind that this is going to be a gaming pc. Also like to mention, that budget wise, there aint really one but still i dont want to a spoilt idiot and get stuff for a ripped off price. Having said that, and using a pretty retarded pc, and wish to  get a pretty damn good one. I do wish to get the best feedback as to know that my pc will serve me well for a minimum of 3yrs. What u think?

I'm not really sure what the "striker 2" is. I wanted to build a new PC myself recently, and only looked up specs and have no idea what's the difference between the brands. For motherboards, consider ones with x38/48 chipset for Crossfire, and 780i for SLI. If you don't use SLI, the x38 is better. It's FSB runs at 1600mhz natively, compared to 780i's 1333mhz, which means supporting faster cpus and more overclock headroom. For reference, Q6600 runs at 1066Mhz FSB at stock speed. Q9450 runs at 1333mhz FSB at stock.
