this might be a oneshot clean answer, but in doublechecking information on my motherboard before i go to buy new video card / ram today, I noticed that the Intel website claims:
(copied direct from their site: )
System Memory Features
The board has four DIMM sockets and support the following memory features:
-1.8 V (only) DDR2 SDRAM DIMMs with gold-plated contacts
-Unbuffered, single-sided or double-sided DIMMs with the following restriction: Double-sided DIMMs with x16 organization are not supported.
-4 GB maximum total system memory -Minimum total system memory: 128 MB -Non-ECC DIMMs -Serial Presence Detect -DDR2 667, DDR2 533, or DDR2 400 MHz SDRAM DIMMs
When i used Crucial.com last night to find out about my current ram, it didnt mention anything about *not* supporting the ddr2 800
It did however say at the top:
"We were not able to determine the manufacturer and/or model of your PC, but we were able to complete our scan with information from your motherboard."
I currently have 1x 1gb 667 ram in my Intel d945gtp motherboard
Does anyone know if dd2 800 *will* work, or am I stuck with 667 ram until a few months time when I can upgrade the motherboard and cpu?
(In other words, do I go and buy 2gb of ddr2 800 ram (2x1gb), or go and buy 1Gb of ddr2 667 ram..?)
