I hope some one can help me!!
I am trying to get my Q6600 overclocked to 3.4ghz (G0) stepping and I can't get it right it always bluescreens or doesn't even boot. I have tried multiple thing messing around in the bios I can get it to 3.2ghz but I really want to push it to 3.4ghz
Specs
Q6600 (G0)
XFX 780i mobo
4gb Dominator Ram
300 WD Vraptor
XFX 9800gtx+
750 Ultra PSU
are u using the factory cooler cause if u are good luck and btw even on high end air cooling 1.5vlts is definitly not long term voltage mines at 3.6@1.43 every chip is different tho
Your voltages are way too high, I get 3.4 with mine at around 1.35-7. I wouldn't suggest anything over 1.45 unless your watercooling. There is no way the 780 has that much vdroop that you need such a high voltage. I'd get your voltages under control before you continue to 3.4.
stfu nvidia chipsets are pretty good my Q6600 is at 3.9ghz@1.43 on a 680ilt mobo, nvidia chipsets just have bad vdrop eg in the bios it says im at 1.5065 but im at 1.43
I'm about to upgrade my cooler (when my AS5 arrives) and temps should decrease dramatically. I found the biggest difference was increasing the voltage to my ram and NB due to the higher FSB - i'm using 425x8 btw.
All is working well at 3.4ghz although i had a couple of problems due to my graphics card.
