Below is a link to the case I have. It has a 250mm fan on the side that will blow in or out. There is a spot for a fan on the back below the psu and a spot for a fan in the bottom front of the case. My question is what is my best configuration as far as air blowing in or out? For example should i have it: back fan in, front fan in, side fan out or side fan in, front fan out, back fan out etc. etc...... My thought is bi, fi, so but i'd appreciate any thoughts or knowledge on the subject.
To oversimplify, the best airflow would be balanced intake & exhaust.
I am aware of the case with a 25cm fan that can be switched between intake & exhaust. You'll have to experiment with it. There's no one-size-fit-all solution. Try side in, front out & rear out. Look at the cpu, gpu & mobo temps in Windows at idle & load. Try another config until you find the lowest possible idle & load temps.
The only option you have with that case(bad design and airflow) is one exaust on the top rear and the PSU. The rest are all supply air. Any other config will just starve the case even farther for fresh air. With that GPU I would highly recomend a good pci slot exuast fan when using that case
I have the enermax chakra full tower case and I have the 25cm fan blowing in on the components and added a 120mm fan to the rear of the case. I also put two 120mm fans on the inside to blow air over the memory and my videocard. If I were you, I would go with the full tower because it allows for you to customize your airflow better.
I uploaded my pictures just to give you an idea of the kind of space that you will have. My processor temps idle between 27-31 degrees Celsius and my videocard idles around 47.
