I had a quick question regarding the Nvidia 9800GX2. Seeing as how it has two GPU's, would that mean that it requires a motherboard that can handle SLI? Or can I run it on an ASUS P5K-E?

GX2 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130338

P5K-E - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131225

Sorry if this is a ridiculous question, I'm very new to computer hardware and if I do manage to get a hold of a GX2 I wouldn't want to have to find out my motherboard would have to be replaced with it.

Thanks for the reads and any replies!

Maybe not that extreme. but it could put a very large load on the PSU and it could try your PSU. If the PSU goes you run the risk of taking other components with it. Also, if you are overloading your PSU it causes more stress on your system over all, you can fry a component without even loosing your PSU.

My recomendation is, don't go cheap on your PSU. It's like having a HIGH performance motor and having a wheek transmission. You put to much stress on it and it will eventually give and take other things with it.

Would you guys say a PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750W is cutting it close when considering a 9800GX2?

I've used eXtreme Outer Vision's web-based PSU calculator using my system specs and it gave me an estimate of 420w~, although I'm not sure how accurate this calculator is.
