CD drivers being loaded for Dell Dimension DVD-RW

I have a DVD-RW that seems to be loading cd drivers from cdron.inf.
When I boot, the door closes, reopens, and stays open. I looked in the registry, and there is a ton of entries referencing a cd-rom. What to do?

You posted in the Tom's Hardware Bug Reports & Resolution Forum. This forum is for specific 'bugs' related to the Forum, not your DVD-RW. SO when you say you have 'a' DVD-RW, is that the one that came installed on the DELL? If so, it may have failed. Have you tried a new or different drive? Microsoft OS provides the drivers necessary to manage and run the unit.
