i purchased a 4gb sandisk flash drive, mass storage device, it recognizes the cruzer, and then starts to istall the driver for it, at the end an error message pops up saying devise is not installed, driver not meant for this platform, I have windows xp on a hp mini

Sandisk Cruzer USB drives have a software program called U3 that it installs on the host cmputer and then uses that to save data. You may have to be logged-on as an administrator to install U3. I know U3 works with XP.
