I was wondering what ddr2 meant and if a 9600 would be able to run on my computer seeing that its ddr3, i dont know much about these things but if someone can help me i would appreciate

Should be fine. DDR3 is faster memory than ddr2, but for regular desktop memory, ddr3 is way too expensive, but ddr2 is not much slower and is way cheaper. You ought to have no problem.
