What my problem is, is that when I try to overclock my Q6600 G0 to any speed above stock, it has a powering on problem. What happens is that the overclock works and all the settings/speeds stay once in windows, yet once I push the power button, it turns on for maybe two seconds, powers off, then two seconds later starts powering on fine.
There must be something wrong with the CPU fan, as nothing is plugged into the 4pin motherboard CPU fan socket. Ive tried moving the one fan around to different places in the motherboard, my fan controller and even in the CPU fan 4 pin, but it still has this odd powering on problem.
Yet as soon as I change the BIOS back to default settings, it powers on fine, doesn't show any overclocking failed or CPU fan error messages. The BIOS has only been updated around two weeks ago.
Intel Q6600 G0 2.4GHZ (Has ran fine at 3.2ghz)
ASUS P5K-E Wifi Motherboard
2X 1GB Crucial Ballistix Tracer RAM 1066mhz
Thermalright 120 Extreme CPU cooler (With two 120mm Fans)
Corsair 750Watt Power Supply
Win XP Pro 32Bit
