Correct? I thought that ram is ECC on servers.
 
Just went in my Bios and ECC was enabled. Wonder if thats why I have been crashing lately. Turned it off and will try doing what I did when I crashed.

This is mainly used in servers to avoid unexpected memory values which causes machine instability.
 
ECC can still be used on desktop board that support it, but more than likley your RAM that you bought will not be ECC compatible. This should really be auto detected by the BIOS and turned on or off respectively. I cant see how it would cause issues though either way.
