More Information

Hello all, my first post but probably not my last :)

I recently bought a new system from overclockers UK, and since building it I have had nothing but issues getting it to actually post. Once I managed to get XP installed, but after turning it off it again wont post at all. All the LED's come on, fans power up, graphics card fan runs etc but no post. Occasionally I get the dual boot but still not posting.

My system is:
J&W P35 Pro motherboard
Q6600
BFG 8800GT 512 OC
2GB of OCZ Limited Edition 8500 RAM
Tuniq Tower 120
NZXT Lexa Blackline case
Corsair HX 620 PSU

I just want to know what I can do to get it all running. On the one occasion it ran it was when I removed the back case section, but I tried this again and no luck. Really I would like to keep this mobo as for one the Tuniq brace that goes behind the mobo is well and truly stuck, and I want to get playing Eve again this weekend.

Also one of the case screws to hold the mobo in place has vanished, would it be best to buy another to ensure it's properly grounded, remove the bronze mounting jobby below or just buy a new screw (all the initial testing was done before this was lost)? Should I just get a new mobo that wont be so problematic, and if yes what? Budget is around £100.

Sorry for the long post but having had the PC in front of me for over a week and no luck i'm really hoping someone can shed some light on this problem! Thanks in advance for any help,
Griff

Imo, the first thing you should consider doing is getting rid of that cr@ppy motherboard. Get a P35-DS3L if on a budget. Also make sure that the RAM voltage is set properly. Those DDR2 800 RAM usually run at 2.1v. Also clear CMOS and try.
