Profile: enthusiast

I have read Tom's C2D overclocking tutorial, but i was wondering is there any literature more specific to Gigabyte for bios and OCing?

I have a GA-EX38-DS4 rev. 1.x. There are a hell of a lot more bios settings than Tom's tutorial has and a lot more than Asus.

I am just more knowledgable about OCing than most OCing noobs. I am a above average novice when it comes to building PCs, i do some light programing and other pc nerd stuff. When it comes to changing mobo voltages, FSB, etc, i want to be more informed before i proceed. I burned my last ATI 3870 using ATI Overdrive's autotune. I do not want to OC using software anymore. It is not reliable.

I don't want to fry my board on the first try. I want to start simple and move up over months, so i can learn. I am really not worried about needing speed at this very moment. I do not want to go so exteme to need water cooling.

My specs:
GA-EX38-DS4 rev. 1.x
E7200, 2.5Ghz, 3M cache
2x2G patriot PC6400 DDR2 800mhz
Vistiontek ATI  HD3870 OC 512M (OC'd from manufacturer)
Seagate 250G SATA150  HD
Fans: Golden Orb 2, 40mm NB fan, 2 Ultra 80mm case fans and a thermaltake fan controller for case fans.
BFG Tech 800w psu, 4-12V rails 20A ea/64A max
DVD RW, CD-ROM and floppy
