I have a P4 2.4, 320 g hard drive, FX 5200Video card, Lite on DVD burner X18 I think and windows XP home. Just wanted some ideas on some upgrades to turn this into a media pc. Some thing to record movies TV shows and down load them on a IPod or play on  TV kind of like a TiVo Pluse:} PS its all IDE my moather board dosent have any sata ports and a 450 PSU

Right now the greatest deal on media pc is the 780G(chip based mobo)+AMD4850e(2.5ghz dual core). This combo can be bought for around 190$. The onboard graphics are decent too for light gaming and are tailor made for a media PC. I fully recommend u get rid of your P4,mobo,video card. Should fetch you some decent $$.Everything else seems fine.

seems to be a nice mother board i guess ill still need a tv tuner right?
and will i need to upgrade to windows media center ?
 
im reading a little about this board can some one tell me more about using it in a crossfire set up :}
