Hello,

I have my PC with this configuration:

Motherboard: Asus Striker II Extreme
CPU: Intel Core™2 Duo E8500
RAM: 2 GB OCZ PC3-10666 ReaperX HPC Enhanced Bandwidth
GPU: BFG NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX OCX 512MB

I wish to OC it to obtain around 4Ghz to get better performance with MS Flight Simulator X.

I tried to understand from the guide here how to do it but am a bit confused cause the Asus BIOS is quite different and there are many more settings in it.

Could someone give me some tip on how to do it?

Many thanks.

set fsb to 425, core voltage to 1.35. run prime to see if its stable. if so back off on voltage a step at a time until it fails prime then jack it back up a notch.

Thank you so much for your help. I apologize but am a total newbie...

In the BIOS screen i have the following entries:

CPU Multiplier [9.5]
FSB - Memory Clock Mode [Linked]
FSB - Memory Ratio [Auto]
FSB QDR, MHz [1333] <----- I suppose I have to change THIS value, right? so if I put 1700 (425x4) the system doesn't start and after a reboot I have the message that BIOS has falied...

What am I doing wrong?

About the quad, thanks for the suggestion but I have found on many forums and magazines that MS FSX doesn't get any advantage by neither the quad nor by SLI. Do you think different?

Thanks again for your time.

Alberto
