Hi All,

I have this mobo:

ASUS RAMPAGE FORMULA LGA 775 Intel X48 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Where is the connector for the CD-RW/DVD drive on this motherboard? I can only find the connector for the FDD. This is crazy. I have an older Samsung SM-352 CD-RW/DVD drive that only has an IDE interface... can I even use this drive with this motherboard? if so, I can't even find where to plug this in. I have scoured the book and all over my mobo.

If i need to upgrade to a new CD-rw/dvd drive, what type of connection do they use now and where in the heck is the connector located on this mobo?

-Thanks guys!

Your motherboard does have a PATA connector for your optical drive. It should be blue and is right between the FDD connector and the SATA connectors. It might confuse you because it faces to the side instead of straight up like the other connectors
