currently iam using 17"crt, so guys i need your to help me decide which LCD resolution shall i use, btw iam using pentium d @ 2,9 collied with Tt V1
i used his 1600pro before...and yes the color reproduction was way better in ati, but using 96gt in xp, i can max detail (with no or max 2 anti aliasing) in 1240 x silky
info : @ manli mb :
+ the mboard nearly as powerfull, more accurate 3d but less pretty then HIS 1600pro
there is slight problem as :
1. i can only used 2 from 4 sata connector + it also must the L cable due the sata port is behind the pci-e slot
2. iam using x-fi @ 2nd pci port now, the funny thing is win. recon but it cant install the driver, i must put it in the 1st port, install the driver (win. recon the device) then swap it to the 2nd port + driver for succescful installation

It depends on the games you want to play. Personally I think 1680x1050 is pretty much the sweet spot right now It's the native resolution of most LCD of 20" to 22" and could last anyone 5+ years and recent mid-range and lower-mid-range cards can play most of today's games at this resolution without much trouble. In very demanding games (Crysis), you will have to lower either quality settings or resolution, but it would still look great (haven't seen much in-game difference going from 1680x1050 to 1440x900).

As I said, it varies a lot from game to game. You can look at Tom's review and see for yourself. To play Crysis decently at 1680x1050, I think you will need at least a 8800GTS 512MB.

You may want to consider the refresh rate with the lcd.
I've yet to see a LCD at native resolution do much if any above 60 htz.One way around it is to get a bigger monitor and lover the resolution and you can have your 75 Htz for a flicker free image...but then your loosing out becasue unlike the CRT .....LCD looks its best at native.

I don't know how much better 75Hz would look on a LCD, but I sure never saw any flickers on 60Hz LCDs.

Go with the native resolution of your LCD. It will look better. Most lcd's use a 60 hz refresh rate, which is plenty because the images are not redrawn like a CRT. For a CRT, you need 75hz, or preferably 85hz to keep from seing a flicker.
after another good game release i might go & search for budget chin mei 19'' - 22'' (since they also dubb the samsung panel) or else @ 1680 & <= 5ms lcd, thanks every one.
