I cloned my old IDE drive to an external. Worked fine, except it will not boot. The BIOS does not show the new drive, but internet explorer does. Is this typical?

you are trying to boot windows off a usb drive external enclosure?

If you computer is more than few years old this wont work since mb's from a few years back needed drivers to run usb ports and without windows already running there were no drivers....
