9600 GT for $110; HDMI/DVI Question

Newegg has Palit's cheaper version of the 9600GT for $150 with a $40 rebate. I'm just about to pounce on this (considering I was about to pay almost that much for an 8600GT!) but I need to be sure that the HDMI port can be converted into a VGA port for a second display later on down the road. Just as there is a DVI to VGA dongle, is there a HDMI to VGA dongle?

  1. On second thought I'm thinking about just going with the MSI 9600 GT OC. It is only $15 more (well $35 more counting the rebate) but it has two DVI ports and definitely supports VGA out as it comes with a DVI-VGA adapter.

The Palit doesn't even come with the VGA adapter which leads me to think it doesn't support VGA out. Ah well.

PS here's an actual link to both

  2. I find it hard to believe you can't find an adapter. You should go with the palit. Great price. Adapters should be cheap enough, no ? Maybe you can find somebody to give you one. They're quite common nowadays.
