Newegg has Palit's cheaper version of the 9600GT for $150 with a $40 rebate. I'm just about to pounce on this (considering I was about to pay almost that much for an 8600GT!) but I need to be sure that the HDMI port can be converted into a VGA port for a second display later on down the road. Just as there is a DVI to VGA dongle, is there a HDMI to VGA dongle?

On second thought I'm thinking about just going with the MSI 9600 GT OC. It is only $15 more (well $35 more counting the rebate) but it has two DVI ports and definitely supports VGA out as it comes with a DVI-VGA adapter.

The Palit doesn't even come with the VGA adapter which leads me to think it doesn't support VGA out. Ah well.

I find it hard to believe you can't find an adapter. You should go with the palit. Great price. Adapters should be cheap enough, no ?  Maybe you can find somebody to give you one. They're quite common nowadays.

Yea,  I have about a dozen or so from all the previous video cards I have owned.
