Q9300 Overheating?

Have a Q9300 running at standard voltages with stock Intel fan. Core 0 runs at a constant 63C regardless of load or idle mode. The other 3 cores are running anywhere from 45C to 54C. Any idea why Core 0 seems to be running this high? If I decide to upgrade the CPU fan, I'll need something with a low profile, since the case has a huge side fan that gets in the way of anything that might stick out.

thats normal

its not high

get a good cooler and run that baby at 3.4-3.8ghz

even at low voltage (1.35v) you can get a good oc, the cpu will last 7-10 years at 100% 24/7 0utput

sweets spot is still 3.6ghz

What are you using to measure the the temperature. Core Temp?

I haven't really stressed my stock speed Q9450 yet other than encode a few movies using DivX.

Idle load ranges from 37C to 42C for the cores. The highest temp I've notice under a partial load (~40%) is 50C.

I am using a Tuniq Tower with a 120mm Yate Loon fan.

I'll play some games this weekend I suppose.

you need 1.44-1.46 after droop, that is 1.52v max with nvidia or intel without a "load line cal" or

some cpu's will work at 1.43 as written by me 9 months ago, some need 1.45v

remember when you read endless people clocking to 3.6ghz with their q6600 G0, i stated it first!
