Hello I just bought a 8800GTS 512, and I am now looking for a PSU to go along with it.

The 450 and 550 corsair looks appealing.

However i have a Hiper 580w at a very appealing price.

Here is more about it,

Please i need urgent reply because I am bidding on it, on ebay.

a very good brand 550W is enough.but its better to have a 700W PSU if you intended to keep it for a while and do overclocking at the same time.

I have an E6570
2 gb of memory
320 GB HD
DVD RW
8800GTS 512MB

I don't overclock, and I intent to keep this system for some time.

So Is the above PSU considered a good brand?

Cheers

Q: What are the recommended power supply requirements for both the GeForce 8800 GT in single and multi-GPU configurations?

A: GeForce 8800 GT graphics cards require a minimum 400 W or greater system power supply (with 12V current rating of 26 A) for single GPU operation. Please refer to www.SLIZone.com for a list of recommended SLI certified power supplies for multi-GPU configurations.

I think you misread it. A 400W PSU for the entire system is NOT excessive.

Hiper is not known as a quality PSU manufacturer. I would use one if I had to, but I wouldn't purposefully buy one. How much is your PSU budget?
