Hi there a friend of mine has been scratching his head over what mobo to use for his bro new rig..
First time to try out AMD so please give some suggestions on what board are suitable.. thx!!
 
Specs:
Athlon Am2 x2 5000 BE
Mobo (Not Sure)
Mushkin XP-650w Enhanced PSU
Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 Pc6400 2x1gb rams
Seagate Barracuda 320gb sata2 HHD
Sapphire HD3870x2 Graphic card

I'd go with this one: MSI K9A2.  Lets you upgrade to quad core later and it'll support 2 x 8X crossfireX.  If he's got a little more cash I'd go with MSI K9A2 Platinum which will support 2 x 16x crossfireX.

1. 3870X2--- "single card is allways better than 2 cards..."---
2. MObo any 780G will do just fine.. fast usb and am2+ support

hmmz so i should get 2 HD3870 and do crossfire?  
Btw is the DFI UT 790fx mobo good besides the MSI K9A2 Platinum?

I dont think the 780G has dual 16x slots so no crossfire with that board.  Its a great board though.

get a motherboard with 780g chipset with great feature build in.
