Hey guys.

Im new to the Forum.

I have been doing alot of research for sometime now.
Im Looking For a proper for QUICK informative replys. I think I found One :sol:

This is my First Build. SO ill need alot of help Putting the thing together.

Overclocking is a must.(HSF). But that after i get this up and running... Ill get into that later. AFter this thing works.

For the mobo - i was looking to SLI someday, Checked out EVAGA and ASUS.
there are so many p5n - Confusing me.
any Evaga 680i

ARe there any other mobos that have sli?

AS far a GPU . I cant decide which 8800gt is it worth jumping into the GTS?

If it was me I'll go for the latest mobo wiyh 790i chipset such as Asus Formula Rampage
PSU 850 W
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme Heatsink
Scythe S-Flex SFF21F Fan
Be carefull to get compatible memories for your mobo

hey guys.. WHAT ABOUT the XFX 680i .. DOES THAT WORK?? Im reading mixed reviews. some say it works, some say it dont. Any 1 in here actually have it running with a 45nm??

I dropped the PP&C because.. The cooler master is 40$ cheaper. Its a budget PC.. :( .

hey, well First time running Prime 95 .. within 4 min...
core 1 hit 82 C
core 2 hit 80 C

Then i closed prime 95 .. It looks suprisingly hot...
ps not overclocked

Try using another application. somthimes it could be reading wrong temps.

But if those temps are right, then check and see if the cpu heatsink is seated correctly, thats way to hot
 
Here is a good explanation:
I use both but have 100% Tech Grade alcohol.
I use Acetone first to remove -everything- followed by the Alcohol to remove any Acetone residue (using Q-tips) and just befor the TIM wipe them with a coffee filter (never cloth/TP or paper towel).
In fact I even do this with all new out-of-box CPU/HS installs not just remounts.

Next I use about 1/4 the size of a grain of dry rice on the HS and with my finger covered with plastic food wrap work it in over the whole thing...this is just to fill micro pits...repeat for the CPU and then leave the rest of the 3/4 rice grain bit in the center of the CPU.
This seems to give the lowest temps no matter what HS or TIM you use...and the cheap stuff works the exact same in real life as the $7-12 stuff.
