Is that possible with a Q9550? called dell not much help! said i could return it. Is there a way i can check and see for sure before i return it?

lol that does not make sense. Dell underclocked the cpu? well here is some advice. return the whole thing. dell sucks a lot!!! take that money and spend it buying parts yourself. this way you will have made a much better computer and for less.

If you need help putting it together of deciding on parts we can help. Just dont buy dell its a rip off.

oh and what are you going to use the computer for? and whats your budget?

Relax, man, There's only one type of Q9550. There's no "2 meg 533 fsb" version of it. Wait until you get the PC, then download CPU-Z and see what it shows. If it's not a Q9550 then of course return it.

I bet it's the right thing and it's just that the person who wrote the e-mail was overworked/incompetent/drunk/whatever.

I agree, send the piece of crap back. We can help you choose parts and assemble it yourself, or lots of us custom build rigs for people like you and sell via Ebay.

I help alot of my customers choose parts on Newegg.com, that way they no what they are getting, and how much it costs, then I charge $150 to assemble, test, and support it for 3years.

My PCs are more powerful and better quality then Dell makes. Plus you dont get all the bloatware that Dell installs.

If your interested, send me a PM and I will be happy to help you choose parts on newegg.com.

I,m gonna be a little busy today, trying to get a core i7 920 for $150, and a x58 mobo for $130, since its black friday. I know where to get it, I just got to call in fast to get it. Wish me luck!!!

If I do get it the rig I build with it will go on Ebay for way cheaper then any other i7 rig atm.

yes but in any time the AMD Phenom 9550 is clocked at 1.6GHz. It's a 2.2GHz quad, with 2MB L2 + 2MB L3 cache and DDR2-1066 support.
