I've been trying for 5 months to fix this broken hard drive I got. I got the documents off of it, but I couldn't fix it. Anyway I got rid of the old hard drive that didn't work and I bought a new one. The thing is I had to put windows vista back into the computer. I bought 2 windows vista installation cds from toshiba that would put windows vista it back into the computer.

The first CD runs fine the second cd doesn't. It says that's it's finishing it restarts and then I get this message.

"Windows Setup could not configure windows to run on this computer's hardware"

I don't know what to do. :??:

Check in bios (F2) key at startup - check hard drive configuration.

I've looked everywhere in BIOS 3 times. I can't find hard drive configuration. Would it be under a different name?

Thanks for the input! I might have to do that.

Under Advanced these are the things that come up.

Pointing Devices
Built in Lan
Wake up on Lan
Wake On Wireless Lan
Critical Battery Wake up
Execute Disable Bit Capability
Inter Virtualization Technology
Legacy USB Support
Wake On Keyboard
Interl Dynamic Acceleration
Sata Controller Mode

None of the other tabs seem to really do anything.

Un der Sata controller mode it says if I should set sata controller to AHCI mode of to compatibility mode. Could that help? The other tab I would guess might work in the "boot tab"

This is what it shows

1. HDD WDC WD3200BPUT-00HXZT1 (S1)
2. FDD
3. CD/DVD TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633A (S4)
4. LAN
5. USB Memory

Other then that the rest of the tabs are basically useless.
